En route pass scenic paddy fields with groups of buffaloes resting in their muddy ponds. Quaint Malay kampungs (villages) are scattered all over the island, giving you a true insight into the design of traditional Malay homes.

Continue to Eagle Square, to view the magnificent eagle sculpture erected on a pedestal overlooking the sea. This huge monument is a tribute to the island, which is named after the brown eagle.

Passing through stunning vistas of waterfalls amidst tropical rainforests, make your way to Underwater World Langkawi, one of the largest marine and fresh water aquaria in South-East Asia. It is built to raise awareness on the importance of conserving aquatic life forms, thus creating understanding of the deep and inseparable bond between man and nature.
