Blue Mountain tour

Full-day four-wheel drive excursion with lunch

Heading out of Sydney, we follow the great western highway along a ridge and into the foothills, before entering the Blue Mountains National Park. Here, you will see Aboriginal sites decorated with extraordinary stencil paintings, astounding views of precipitous valleys from lookout points perched high on cliff tops, bizarre rock formations created by aeons of erosion and an enormous variety of plants and wildlife.

We pass through the tree-lined streets of the quaint little village of Leura. Skirt along Cliff Drive, from where there are stupendous vistas of the Jamison Valley, the rocky pinnacles of the Three Sisters and Echo Point and then to Katoomba, where the Art Deco and Art Nouveau architecture, occasional thick mists (and the even more occasional snowfalls) combine to create a slightly other worldly atmosphere.

You will enjoy a delicious barbecue lunch including a selection of fine Australian wines and cheeses under the canopy of the bush before further exploration (weather conditions permitting) will reveal the diversity of wildlife in the area, including the many kangaroos that graze in the wild.

We leave the Blue Mountains National Park to return to Sydney via the Olympic 2000 site, arriving at your hotel in the evening.
