Vienna city
Half-day coach excursion with a visit to Schönbrunn Palace
The capital of the Habsburg Empire unites its splendid imperial architecture with that of the Viennese Art Noveau movement, creating one of the world’s most visually fascinating cities.
This tour will introduce you to many of the Austrian capital’s most significant buildings. You start by driving along Ringstrasse, which is lined by some of Vienna’s most impressive architecture. The tour includes the State Opera House, the Natural History Museum, the Museums Quartier cultural district, the former Habsburg winter residence, the Hofburg (home of the Spanish Riding School and its Lippizaner horses), Parliament, City Hall and Belvedere Palace, which houses the largest and the most precious Gustav Klimt collection in the world.
The highlight of the tour is undoubtedly Schönbrunn Palace, the former summer residence of the Habsburg family built by Emperor Franz Josef I.45 rooms are open to the public, as are the grounds, which include the Baroque Zoo, English Garden, Palm House and the fine collection of imperial carriages.
This is a three-hour daily coach excursion which includes pick-up from your hotel and drop-off at the Vienna Opera House in the city centre.
