St Paul de Vence, Grasse and Cannes

Full-day private minivan excursion

From the beaches and sophisticated resorts of the Mediterranean to ancient mountain villages, this enthralling excursion reveals the many aspects of Provence.

We start by driving up into the hills to St Paul de Vence. This little town is full of excellent restaurants and handicraft shops. Your journey of discovery continues up the valley of the River Loup, past mediaeval villages, to Gourdon la Sarrasine, a 760-metre high rocky spur from which you have an eagle’s eye view of the coastline.

Descending through hilly terrain you arrive at Grasse, the world capital of the perfume industry. Here, where the air is heady with the scent of lavender and rose, you may take a guided tour of a perfumery or explore independently the old town and its perfume museum. En route to the coast you pause at Mougins, a favourite haunt of Picasso, before reaching glamorous Cannes. You will be able to explore the Old Port, stroll along La Croisette, with the Palais des Festivals and lovely views of the bay and islands on one side and grand 19th century hotels and smart shops on the other.

This excursion operates daily for a minimum of two persons and includes pick-up and drop-off from your hotel in Nice, entrance fees and English-speaking guide.
